RUSSIAN PHARMACEUTICAL DISTRIBUTORS: TOP LIST

The target of the research conducted by RMBC twice a year is to analyze the operational efficiency of pharmaceutical distributors of the pharmaceutical retail segment. The survey respondents are pharmacy managers and other employees who actually choose pharmaceutical distributors and are responsible for direct purchases (16 regions of the RF). The pharmacy sample and the quota are defined on the basis of the total number of pharmacies with consideration to such factors as ownership, size and other.

The assessment of the wholesale company efficiency (price/non-price competition factors) is based on interviews with pharmacy employees who evaluate the six relevant performance criteria: competitive price, assortment, accurate delivery, commodity credit, confidence and prompt supply (handling of requests and delivery).

Pharmacy experts estimated their key suppliers by each criterion using a four-grade scale.

The score for each pharmaceutical distributor was calculated using respondent evaluations and weight of each criterion (calculated relevance of a criterion in percentage to cumulative effectiveness of a supplier). The final score of each distributor is the sum total of its scores by all criteria weighted by each criterion relevance rate.
